Beginners Math Rock Lesson

How to Play Math Rock?

Hello, Steve here. I made this tutorial video for those who are interested in learning how to start writing and playing math rock for guitar. The lesson is separated into three segments, first we'll learn some mathy style chords, secondly we'll take these chords and use them to practice some mathy style rhythm exercises, and lastly, we'll touch upon odd time and compound time signatures. In each section you'll learn some music theroy too, great stuff! You can find tabs for all the exercises below, and if you would like a Guitar Pro version of the exercises, head over to my patreon page, and become a patron, thanks.

Want to improve your guitar playing skills? Of course you do! Creative Guitar 1 and 2 are my go-to books when it comes to improving my skills. They are both written by the master of guitar himself, Guthrie Govan. Book 1 is for beginners to immediate players, and book 2 is for more adept players.
